Overview
About the Lantronix SpiderDuo
SpiderDuo (also written Spider Duo) attaches to a single computer's VGA and keyboard/mouse ports and makes its console available over the network, while still passing through a local monitor, keyboard and mouse. Administrators can manage a machine down to the BIOS, reinstall an OS or recover a hung system without traveling, and staff on site keep normal local access. The zero-U form factor fits where a rack KVM won't: kiosks, ATMs, POS systems, branch offices, training centers and test labs.
Virtual Media lets users transfer files, redirect local drives, install patches and run full system upgrades from an ISO file. Video is HD15 VGA up to 1600x1200 at 60 Hz, and the unit supports local access plus up to 8 simultaneous remote users. Keyboard, mouse and video data are hardware-encrypted, with LDAP, RADIUS and Active Directory authentication, IP source filtering and per-group permissions.
An RS-232 port runs at up to 115,200 bps for serial pass-through, configuration or the optional PCU100-01 power control unit, which adds remote power cycling. SpiderDuo runs on 5 VDC at 2 A from the included supply, dissipates 4-8 W and operates from 0°C to 45°C. Fleet management is available through the Percepxion for Networking cloud platform.

The keyboard and mouse connection to the target computer. SLSLP400USB-02 uses USB and SLSLP400PS2-02 uses PS/2. Both include 21.6-inch VGA cables and identical KVM-over-IP features.
How many users can access a SpiderDuo at once?
Local access plus up to 8 simultaneous remote users, with user and group permissions and LDAP, RADIUS or Active Directory authentication. IP source address filtering limits where sessions can originate.
What video resolution does SpiderDuo support?
HD15 VGA video up to 1600x1200 at 60 Hz. Target systems can run Windows, Unix, Linux or Mac OS X. Choose the USB or PS/2 model to match the keyboard and mouse ports.
Can SpiderDuo power cycle the server?
