The Lantronix C4120-1048 is an ION 10 Gigabit Ethernet media converter module for converting 10GBase-T copper to 10GBase-X fiber through an open SFP+ port. The SFP+ slot is empty, so users can select a supported Lantronix 10GE SFP+ fiber module for the network design. The module operates at Layer 1, the physical layer. Data is passed through the converter at line speed, making the C4120 suitable for applications where low latency is essential. The C4120-1048 supports Transparent Link Pass Through, Auto-Negotiation, Auto-MDI/MDIX, Automatic Link Restoration, Loopback on Fiber and Copper, DMI and Remote Firmware Upgrade. It is manageable when installed in a managed ION Chassis and is for use in the ION 19-Slot or 6-Slot Chassis only.
