The Lantronix EMG 8500 Edge Management Gateway is built for branch offices, remote locations, retail stores and other offsite network environments where space is limited. This SKU, EMG851120S, is configured with RS232 serial 8-port access and LTE APAC cellular. The EMG 8500 supports Lights Out Management by giving administrators remote access to connected IT equipment. Its automatic fail-over/fail-back mechanism can use cellular 4G/LTE when the primary network connection is congested or unresponsive. Lantronix includes firewall features to reject or block unauthorized connection attempts, NIST-certified AES encryption, and FIPS 140-2 compliant cryptography. Device ports can be accessed via Telnet/SSH or a web browser-based console client without proprietary software.
