Lantronix IONADP — Point System Adapter for ION Media Converter Chassis

The IONADP makes the Lantronix ION Platform chassis backward compatible with Point System modules. It sits between a Point System module and the ION chassis backplane and lengthens the module to match the size of an ION card, so it can be securely mounted in the ION chassis. The same backplane connection lets the ION chassis power the Point System module. The result: Point System cards you already own can be redeployed in a new ION chassis. Management carries over too. SNMP management of Point System modules installed in an ION chassis works when an existing Point System management module is used with the IONADP. ION modules and Point System modules are managed independently by their own management modules, and each management module needs its own unique IP address. Focal Point can read the management information from both management modules at the same time. The adapter measures 0.5 in wide, 1.25 in deep and 2.9 in high (12.7 x 31.75 x 73.66 mm) and weighs 0.5 lb (0.22 kg). Lantronix notes that environmental ratings depend on the chassis chosen. The listed figures are 0 °C to 50 °C operating, -40 °C to +85 °C storage, 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity and 0 to 10,000 ft altitude. The IONADP can be used with any Point System card. The kit contains the adapter card, a bracket and four screws, and the installation guide (Rev D) covers fitting it.
