Lantronix SFMFF1314-220 is a stand-alone fiber-to-fiber media converter for 1000Base-SX or 1000Base Fiber Channel. Used individually or in pairs, it functions as a mode converter for Gigabit Ethernet or Fiber Channel signals. It converts 1000Base-SX ports on a Gigabit Ethernet switch to 1000Base-LX on a port-by-port basis. The multimode side uses 850nm SC optics; the single mode side uses 1310nm SC optics. For this part number, Lantronix lists 220 m/722 ft. over 62.5/125 μm multimode fiber, 550 m/1804 ft. over 50/125 μm multimode fiber and 10 km/6.2 mi. over single mode fiber. Features include Auto-Negotiation on 1000Base-X ports, Link Pass Through, Pause, Automatic Link Restoration and Protocol Transparency.
