About the Lantronix NTC-550 Series
The NTC-550 Series (also written NTC550, with models NTC-551 and NTC-552) is a 5G router and IoT gateway for fixed and mobile industrial deployments: emergency vehicles, trucks and buses, smart factories, and remote sites with no staff on hand. It supports 5G NR Release 16 in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes with automatic fallback to 4G LTE, plus dynamic 5G network slicing. Private 5G networks are supported too, including CBRS band n48 in the USA and n77/n78 in ANZ, EMEA and LATAM.
Peak cellular rates reach 2.4 Gbps down and 900 Mbps up on 5G SA, and 1.6 Gbps down on LTE Cat 19. Wired connectivity is one 2.5 Gbps LAN/WAN port and four 1 Gbps LAN ports, and Wi-Fi 6 runs 2x2 MU-MIMO in AP, client or AP plus client mode with WPA3. One RS-232/422/485 serial port, three GPIOs, ignition sensing, USB-C, microSD and GPS/GLONASS round out the I/O. All antennas attach via FAKRA connectors: four cellular, one GPS and two Wi-Fi.
Routing features include WAN failover across cellular, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, VRRP, RIPv2, VLANs, an IPS firewall, IPsec (up to 5 tunnels), GRE and OpenVPN. A Modbus TCP and serial gateway and a Data Stream Manager handle industrial data. Remote management uses TR-069, LWM2M, SNMPv3, MQTT to Azure and AWS, SMS commands and Percepxion. The IP41 metal housing operates from -30 °C to +70 °C.

How to choose the right NTC-550 Series part number
The two NTC-550 models share identical interfaces and differ only in cellular band support. NTC-551-01-01 is the North American version, covering 5G bands including n2, n41, n48 (CBRS), n66, n71 and n77, with LTE bands such as B2, B4, B12, B13, B14 and B66. NTC-552-01-01 serves EMEA and APAC excluding Japan and China, covering 5G n1, n3, n28, n75, n76, n77 and n78 and LTE bands such as B1, B3, B20 and B28. Add the ANT-0102 7-in-1 antenna or ANT-0101-B07 bundle and the PSU-0250 12 VDC supply.

What is the difference between the NTC-551 and NTC-552?
They differ only in cellular bands. The NTC-551-01-01 is the North American model with bands such as n48 CBRS, n71 and LTE B13/B14. The NTC-552-01-01 covers EMEA and APAC excluding Japan and China, with bands such as n1, n3, n78 and LTE B20/B28.
Does the NTC-550 Series support 5G standalone and private 5G?
