About the Lantronix X300 Series
The X300 Series gives legacy serial equipment a secure path onto modern networks. One software-switchable serial port (RS-232 or RS-485), a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet port and wireless WAN let a single small gateway sit beside a PLC, RTU or meter and carry its data to SCADA, MES or cloud platforms, with multi-WAN failover between cellular and Wi-Fi when a link drops.
Three hardware variants share the platform (written X300, X303 and X304, or X-300 in some listings): X300F202S is Wi-Fi only, X303F202S adds LTE Cat M1 with 2G fallback, and X304 models such as X304G00AS use LTE Cat-1 in regional builds. The gateway converts in real time between Modbus, DNP3, IEC 104, OPC-UA, MQTT and other industrial protocols. VPN options include WireGuard, ZeroTier, OpenVPN client/server/passthrough, PPTP client, L2TP, GRE and IPsec with up to four channels. The SIM slot is a mini-SIM holder with an optional MFF2 embedded SIM.
Security is handled by Lantronix InfiniShield, with signed firmware, a zone-based firewall and encrypted VPN transport, and Lantronix states compliance with FCC, CE, UL and recent CRA standards. Each gateway SKU includes antennas, a power supply, one year of the Percepxion IoT Edge platform for zero-touch provisioning and over-the-air updates, and LEVEL 2 technical services.

Pick by WAN type, then region. X300F202S is the Wi-Fi only gateway. X303F202S is the worldwide LTE-M model with 2G fallback. X304 models are LTE Cat-1 by region: X304G00AS for USA/Canada, X304G000S for Latin America, X304G002S for EMEA/APAC, X304G007S for Japan/South Korea and X304G00CS for China, India, Thailand and Indonesia. All include antennas and a power supply. X300 Series FAQ
What is the difference between the X300, X303 and X304?
X300 is the Wi-Fi only version with no cellular radio. X303 uses LTE Cat M1 with 2G fallback and is a single worldwide SKU. X304 uses LTE Cat-1, with 3G or 2G fallback options, and comes in regional part numbers.
Which industrial protocols can the X300 gateway convert?
Lantronix lists real-time conversion between Modbus, DNP3, IEC 104, OPC-UA, MQTT and other industrial protocols, so legacy serial equipment can integrate with SCADA, MES and cloud platforms.
Does the X300 support RS-485?
Yes. The serial port is software-switchable between RS-232 with six signals (Rx, Tx, RTS, CTS, DSR or DCD, DTR) and RS-485 in half or full duplex, presented on an RJ-45 header, so one SKU covers both interface types.
Which X304 part number should I order for the United States?
Order X304G00AS, the USA/Canada LTE Cat-1 model. Other X304 builds are regional: Latin America (X304G000S), EMEA/APAC (X304G002S), Japan/South Korea (X304G007S) and China/India/Thailand/Indonesia (X304G00CS). For a single worldwide SKU, the X303F202S uses LTE-M instead.
What comes with an X300 Series gateway?
Each gateway part number includes antennas, a power supply, one year of the Percepxion IoT Edge solution platform and LEVEL 2 technical services. DIN clips (BR250, BR475) and a bare-wire power cord (ACC-500-0420-00) are separate accessories.
