Overview
About the Lantronix XPort EDGE
XPort EDGE (also written XPort Edge, part prefix XPE200) is the next-generation version of the Lantronix XPort in the same compact form factor: a complete network communications engine packed inside an RJ45 Ethernet jack with integrated magnetics. Device makers connect it to any 8, 16 or 32-bit microcontroller over a UART and get a fully offloaded TCP/IP stack, security and management, so the host firmware only has to send and receive serial data. Lantronix positions it for adding Ethernet connectivity and control to a product in a few weeks.
Inside is a Cortex-R4 CPU at up to 320 MHz with 8 MB SPI flash. The 3.3V CMOS UART runs from 9600 bps to 4 Mbps with RTS/CTS and DTR/DCD, plus up to three programmable I/O pins. TruPort Serial passes hundreds of serial protocols through transparently over TCP, UDP or TLS, and TruPort Socket supports multi-host client and server connections and an HTTP(S) server. InfiniShield security adds secure boot, secure FOTA updates, encrypted configuration, key storage, role-based access control, IEEE 802.1X (EAPOL) and TLS 1.2 with X.509 certificates.
The module runs from 3.3VDC at 160 mA on 100Base-TX, measures 33.9 x 16.25 x 13.5 mm, weighs 9.6 g and operates from -40 to +85 C. It is pre-integrated with Lantronix Percepxion for cloud device management and secure firmware upgrades, can send email directly through authenticated SMTP, and is supported by an SDK available from Lantronix.

The three XPort EDGE part numbers are the same module in different packaging. XPE200100B is the production part, supplied 50 units per tray (200 per carton). XPE200100S is a single-unit sample in a box. XPE200100EK is the evaluation kit for developing and testing firmware before committing to a board design. For prototyping on MIKROE hardware, the XPort EDGE Click add-on board is listed as a compatible accessory.
