  • Convert copper Ethernet to fiber uplinks using 10/100/1000Base-T to 1000Base-X media conversion
Lantronix S3220-1040-NA is a stand-alone managed Network Interface Device (NID) for integrating fiber optic cabling into 10/100/1000 copper environments. It provides 10/100/1000Base-T copper connectivity and 1000Base-X fiber connectivity through an SFP slot. The S3220 can be managed individually via an IP address, or managed in-band over the fiber when linked to a C3220 card installed in a managed ION chassis. The S3220 Series includes IEEE 802.3ah Link OAM, VLAN, QoS, SSH/SSL, jumbo frame support and bandwidth allocation. Fiber type, wavelength and maximum distance depend on the installed SFP module. That makes the S3220-1040-NA a managed standalone media converter for copper-to-fiber deployments where the optical module is selected for the link.

Ideal For

  • Integrating fiber optic cabling into 10/100/1000 copper environments
  • Managing a stand-alone S3220 individually via an IP address
  • Managing the remote device in-band over fiber when linked to a C3220 card in a managed ION chassis
  • Secure delivery of mobile backhaul applications

Why This Product

  • 1SFP slot adds optical flexibility versus fixed-port converters
  • 2Managed design supports more controlled deployments than basic media converters
  • 3Gigabit copper support keeps legacy endpoints in service during migration
  • 4Modular fiber selection helps match existing optical standards and distances
