The Lantronix ION S6010 is a stand-alone managed media converter for extending DS1 – T1/E1 or PRI connections over fiber optic cabling. The S6010-1011 configuration converts Twisted Pair (RJ-48) [1.5 km/0.9 mi.] to 1300nm multimode (ST) [2 km/1.2 mi.] with an 11.0 dB link budget. S6010 Series converters must be used in pairs, one on each end of the fiber link. The platform supports remote in-band management, local or remote loopbacks on copper or fiber, switch selection for T1 or E1, remote firmware upgrade, and LEDs for immediate visual status. Management of the stand-alone converter is supported in-band over the fiber when the remote S6010 is linked to a C6010 card installed in a managed ION Chassis. SNMP management is supported when used with an ION chassis and management module.
