The Lantronix SecureBox SDS1101 securely network-enables serial devices with 128-256 bit AES-certified encryption. It connects one DB25F DCE serial port to a 10/100 Ethernet interface for remote access and control over a network or the Internet. The serial interface is software-selectable for RS232, RS422 or RS485 with 2 and 4 wire support. The RS-232 DCE serial port is pinned the same as a modem for easy connection. SecureBox SDS1101 works with Lantronix’s Secure Com Port Redirector software to extend COM port-based Windows applications across Ethernet. It can also be used for serial tunneling between two device servers, encrypting and encapsulating serial data into packets for transport over Ethernet. Setup and management options include Lantronix DeviceInstaller GUI, serial login, SNMP, Telnet login and HTTP. The web interface can be disabled for added security.
