The Lantronix UDS1100 is a single-port external device server for adding serial equipment to an Ethernet network. It connects RS232, RS422 or RS485 devices through a DB25F DCE serial port and provides a 10Base-T/100Base-TX RJ45 Ethernet interface. The UDS1100 uses serial tunneling to encapsulate serial data into packets and transport it over Ethernet. It can work with Lantronix supplied Com Port Redirector software so Windows® device applications can communicate with devices connected to the UDS1100. Setup is available locally through the serial port or remotely using Telnet or a web browser. DeviceInstaller configuration software supports IP assignment, web-based configuration, attached-device queries and firmware upgrades. This UD1100001-01 SKU is the UDS1100 with US domestic power 120 VAC power supply and RoHS designation. Lantronix lists UL 864 support for the UDS1100 family.
