About the Lantronix E-100BTX-HT Series
The E-100BTX-HT (ordered as E-100BTX-FX-05 HT models) is the extended-temperature member of the Lantronix stand-alone Fast Ethernet converter line. It converts a 100Base-TX RJ45 port to 100Base-FX fiber and is rated to operate from -25 to 65 C, so it can sit in equipment cabinets, utility closets and other spaces without climate control where heat would push a standard converter out of its rating. It is unmanaged: there is no software to configure, and settings are made with switches and a jumper.
Three models cover the common fiber types. Two use 1300 nm multimode to 2 km with an 11.0 dB link budget, on ST or SC connectors. The third uses 1310 nm single-mode on SC to 20 km with a 16.0 dB budget. DIP switches enable auto-negotiation, pause, link pass through and Far-End-Fault detection, and a jumper block enables auto-MDI/MDIX on the copper port. Automatic link restoration returns the link once a fault clears.
The housing is 3 x 4.7 x 1 in and runs from an external 9 VDC, 1.0 A adapter with a UL and cUL listed wall-mount supply. Mounting options include wall, DIN rail and the RMS19-SA4-02 four-slot shelf. Lantronix rates MTBF at more than 46,768 hours under MIL-HDBK-217F and more than 123,861 hours under Bellcore.

- Four DIP switches and one jumper set auto-negotiation, pause, LPT, FEF and auto-MDI/MDIX, with no IP address or software to manage.
- Compact stand-alone housing
- A 3 x 4.7 x 1 in converter that mounts on a wall, a DIN rail with the WMBD-FS bracket, or a 19-inch shelf.
How to choose the right E-100BTX-HT Series part number
All three E-100BTX-HT models have one 100Base-TX RJ45 port and the same -25 to 65 C rating; the suffix sets the fiber port. E-100BTX-FX-05(HT) is 1300 nm multimode with ST connectors to 2 km. E-100BTX-FX-05(SCHT) is the same multimode optic with SC connectors. E-100BTX-FX-05(SMHT) is 1310 nm single-mode with SC connectors to 20 km.
