About the Lantronix E210 Series
The E210 Series (also written E-210) connects remote equipment that needs a cellular link plus local Ethernet, Wi-Fi and serial, in an aluminum housing measuring 92.5 x 57.2 x 22.5 mm and weighing about 150 g. Lantronix targets payment terminals, ATMs, kiosks, digital signage, EV charging stations and surveillance. Each model is defined by its LTE category and band set, so the main buying decision is which radio matches your region and carrier.
The E213 runs global LTE-M with 2G fallback, the E214 runs LTE Cat-1 in EMEA, China/India and North American carrier versions, and the E218 runs LTE Cat-4 for Australia, Brazil, Japan and South Korea. All models have two 10/100 Ethernet ports (WAN reconfigurable as LAN), 1T1R Wi-Fi 4, a full RS-232 port, two configurable I/O, dual mini-SIM and microSD storage. Power input is 8-32 VDC and the operating range is -20°C to +70°C.
The Linux-based ePack software handles failover and load balancing across cellular, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, a zone-based firewall, and VPNs including OpenVPN, IPsec (up to 4 channels), WireGuard, L2TP and GRE. Built-in converters translate Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3 and MQTT. Devices are managed through Percepxion or via TR-069, and the G520 SDK builds custom packages in Python or C/C++.

- Built-in converters bridge Modbus RTU/TCP to IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, MQTT, Azure and FTP, and turn I/O states into Modbus or IEC 104 data.
- RS-485 via Snap Cap
- The SC485 Snap Cap turns the RS-232 port into an isolated half- or full-duplex RS-485 port supporting cable runs up to 1.5 km.
- Edge storage and processing
- A microSD slot stores logs and device data locally, and Linux applications filter data at the edge so only what is needed goes to the cloud.
- Wide 8-32 VDC input
- A 4-pin Micro-Fit connector takes 8-32 VDC with slow start and also carries the two user-configurable digital I/O lines.
How to choose the right E210 Series part number
Pick by radio and region. E213F102S is the global LTE-M model with 2G fallback. E214F002S covers EMEA and Malaysia, E214F00CS China and India, both Cat-1 with 3G/2G fallback. The G variants add GPS: E214G000S for AT&T and T-Mobile, E214G001S for Verizon. Cat-4 models are E218F004S (Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia) and E218G107S (Japan, South Korea). Add the matching accessory bundle (MF11 for E213, MF13 for E214/E218, MF14 for G variants), a regional P24E power adapter and the SC485 for RS-485.

Which E210 model works on Verizon?
The E214G001S. It is an LTE Cat-1 router on bands B13 and B14 for Verizon in North America, with GPS, dual SIM, two Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 4 and RS-232. The E214G000S is the AT&T and T-Mobile version, on B2, B4, B5 and B12 with 3G fallback.
What is the difference between the E213, E214 and E218?
The LTE category. The E213 uses LTE-M with global bands and 2G fallback, the E214 uses LTE Cat-1, and the E218 uses LTE Cat-4 for Australia/New Zealand, Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. Ethernet, Wi-Fi, serial, I/O and software are shared; only the G variants add GPS.
Does the E210 Series support RS-485?
Natively it has a full RS-232 port on a 9-pin sub-D connector. The SC485 Snap Cap adapter, sold separately, converts it to an isolated half- or full-duplex RS-485 port on a 5-pin COMBICON connector with cable runs up to 1.5 km.
What power supply does the E210 router need?
It accepts 8-32 VDC through a 4-pin Micro-Fit connector. Lantronix offers 12 V, 1.25 A adapters with regional plugs: P24E2 USA, P24E4 UK/HK, P24E3 Australia/NZ, P24E1 Japan and P24E0 Euro.
What VPN protocols does the E210 support?
OpenVPN client, server and passthrough, IPsec with up to 4 channels, WireGuard, L2TP, PPTP client and GRE. Security also includes a zone-based firewall, VLAN, DMZ, HTTPS management and SIM PIN.
