About the Lantronix ION001-A
The ION001-A (also written ION 001-A) bridges the ION chassis platform and stand-alone deployment. A remote site that needs only one converter can use the same ION slide-in card as the central office instead of a different stand-alone model, keeping spares and configuration consistent. The chassis holds one single-wide ION module, sits on a desktop or mounts on a wall or DIN rail, and is powered by an external adapter with 120-240 VAC input and 12 VDC output.
It is an unmanaged chassis with no backplane management module, but IP-addressable managed ION cards still work and can be managed over their own IP address. Any ION slide-in card that consumes 6 W or less is supported; Lantronix notes that the C4120-1048 is not. There are no chassis LEDs, since the power indicator is on the card itself.
The fanless enclosure measures 102 x 180 x 30.5 mm, weighs 2 lbs and operates from 0°C to 50°C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity and up to 10,000 ft. Lantronix lists MTBF of 191,800 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F) including the power supply, and the chassis carries CE Mark, FCC Class A and CISPR Class A approvals.

How to choose the right ION001-A part number
ION001-A is the only chassis model and includes the external AC power supply. Before ordering, confirm your ION slide-in card draws 6 W or less, and note that the C4120-1048 is not supported. Add a WMBP bracket for wall mounting or a WMBD bracket for DIN rail, both sized for 1- or 2-slot ION chassis, and an IONFP face plate if you need a blank cover.

Which ION cards work in the ION001-A chassis?
The ION001-A supports any single-wide ION slide-in card that consumes 6 W or less of power. Lantronix specifically notes that the C4120-1048 is not supported in this chassis.
Is the ION001-A a managed chassis?
No. The ION001-A is an unmanaged chassis with no ION Management Module. IP-addressable managed ION slide-in cards are supported and can still be managed through their own IP address.
