About the Lantronix ION002-AD
The ION002-AD (also written ION 002-AD) is the smallest multi-slot housing for the Lantronix ION media conversion platform. It is meant for network edge deployments where a full rack chassis is excessive, such as a customer premises, telecom closet or remote cabinet. It holds one double-wide card or up to two single-wide ION slide-in cards, so the same modules used in a central ION chassis can be deployed singly at the far end of a fiber link.
The chassis is unmanaged, but it supports IP-addressable managed ION slide-in cards. Any ION card consuming 6 W or less is supported; Lantronix specifically excludes the C4120-1048 and C4221-4848. There are no status LEDs on the chassis; the power indicator is on each card. The design is fanless.
Power comes either from the included external 120-240 VAC to 12 VDC supply through a barrel connector, or from a two-wire 21-60 VDC source on the terminal block. The chassis measures 102 x 180 x 56 mm, weighs 3 lbs and operates from 0°C to 50°C at up to 10,000 ft. It installs on a desktop, on a wall with WMBP brackets, on DIN rail with WMBD, or in a 19-inch rack with RMB2 ears.

How to choose the right ION002-AD part number
ION002-AD is the chassis itself and includes the AC power supply. The other part numbers are accessories. RMB2 adds 19-inch rack-mount ears, WMBP mounts 1- or 2-slot ION chassis on a wall, and WMBD is a 5-inch DIN rail bracket. IONFP is an ION face plate for covering an unused slot. Lantronix also lists the IONMM management module (USB Type B CLI port) and IONMM-232 (RS232 RJ-45 CLI port) as compatible accessories. Check card power: anything over 6 W, including C4120-1048 and C4221-4848, is not supported.
