Lantronix M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 Mini Gigabit PoE+ Fiber Media Converter
The M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 is a palm-size copper-to-fiber media converter that powers a PoE+ device at up to 30 W while linking it to the network over a 100 or 1000 Mbps fiber SFP.
Overview
About the Lantronix M/GE-PSW-PSE-01
When a PoE camera or access point sits beyond copper distance from the switch, the M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 (also written M-GE-PSW-PSE-01) solves two problems at once: it converts the fiber run back to copper and injects IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power on the RJ45 port. The converter takes a 100Base-FX or 1000Base-X SFP of your choice, so the fiber type and distance are set by the module. Its mini housing measures 46 x 22 x 85 mm and installs on a wall, a DIN rail or a tabletop.
The RJ45 port runs 10/100/1000 with auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX and delivers the full 30 W PoE+ budget to one powered device. Active Link Pass Through detects loss of receive signal on either port and passes the failure to the end devices. Auto Power Reset then power-cycles the PD during a link pass through event, so it is ready when the fault is cleared.
Jumbo frames to 10,000 bytes, an 8K MAC table and 1 Mbit shared buffer, over- and under-current protection and IEEE 802.3az round out the feature set, and configuration is fixed and plug-and-play with no DIP switches. An included 56 VDC, 40 W external adapter with a country-specific cord powers the unit, which draws 34 W at full PoE+ load and operates from 0 to 40 C.
Key capabilities
- 30 W PoE+ output
- The RJ45 port is an IEEE 802.3af/at PSE delivering the full 30 W PoE+ budget to a camera, access point or other powered device.
- Open 100/1000 SFP slot
- The fiber port accepts any 100Base-FX or 1000Base-X SFP module, so multimode, single-mode or long-reach links use the same converter.
- Auto Power Reset
- Resets power to the PD during a link pass through event, ensuring the end device is ready as soon as the fiber or copper fault is corrected.
- Plug-and-play setup
- Fixed configuration with no DIP switches, plus LEDs for power, per-port link and activity, and PoE classification status.
- Mini form factor
- At 46 x 22 x 85 mm it mounts on a wall, DIN rail or tabletop, or in a rack with the RMBM bracket and E-MCR-05 chassis.
How to choose the right M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 part number
M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 is a single model: a 10/100/1000Base-T PoE+ RJ45 port (100 m) to an empty 100/1000Base-X SFP slot, shipped with an external 56 VDC power supply and country-specific cord. Buy a 100Base-FX or 1000Base-X SFP to match the far-end fiber. For mounting, WMBM is the wall bracket, DRBM the DIN-rail bracket, and RMBM the rack bracket used with the E-MCR-05 and RMS19-SA4-02 shelves.

M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 FAQ
How much PoE power does the M/GE-PSW-PSE-01 provide?
The RJ45 port supports IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at and delivers up to the full 30 W PoE+ budget. The converter itself draws 34 W with a full 30 W PoE+ load, powered by the included 56 VDC, 40 W adapter.
Which SFP modules work in the M/GE-PSW-PSE-01?
The SFP slot accepts any 100Base-FX or 1000Base-X fiber SFP module. The slot ships empty, so choose a module that matches your fiber type, wavelength and distance at the far end.
What does Auto Power Reset do on the M/GE-PSW-PSE-01?
When Link Pass Through detects a lost fiber or copper receive signal, Auto Power Reset re-sets power to the powered device, so the PD restarts cleanly and is ready to go as soon as the fault is corrected.
What is the operating temperature of the M/GE-PSW-PSE-01?
With the included power supply it operates from 0 to 40 C, at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity and altitudes up to 10,000 ft. Storage range is -40 to 85 C.
