Overview
About the Lantronix SISTP1040-342-LRT
Many hardened sites only need to power a few devices, such as a small group of cameras or sensors in one enclosure. The SISTP1040-342-LRT (also written SISTP1040-342 or SISTP1040342LRT) fits that job without the configuration work of a managed switch. Its four 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports each deliver 30 W at the same time from a 120 W budget, compliant with IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af, and it starts forwarding traffic the moment it is powered.
Two 100/1000 dual-speed SFP slots provide fiber uplinks and can daisy-chain several switches for reliability. Switching capacity is 12 Gbps with a 4K MAC table, 9K jumbo frames and 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet. The fanless IP30 metal housing is 44 mm wide and weighs 0.43 kg. It operates from -40 to +75 C on redundant 48 to 57 VDC inputs with reverse power protection, drawing 4.4 W before PoE loads.
UL Class 1 Div 2 certification allows use in hazardous locations, and a DIN-rail bracket is included in the box. Status LEDs report system state, both power inputs and each port, and a reset button restarts the switch. It shares its install and quick start guides with the 8-port SISTP1040-382-LRT.
Key capabilities
- 120 W across four ports
- All four PoE+ ports deliver 30 W simultaneously from the 120 W budget, so no port has to be derated when every device draws full power.
- 4.4 W switch overhead
- The switch itself draws only 4.4 W without PoE, keeping supply sizing simple: plan for the PoE load plus a few watts.
- Hazardous-location certified
- UL Class 1 Div 2 certification and a -40 to +75 C fanless rating allow installation in hazardous and outdoor locations.
- Two SFP uplinks
- Two 100/1000 dual-speed SFP slots support fiber backhaul or daisy chaining between switches for maximum network reliability.
- Compact DIN-rail form
- At 44 x 130 x 135 mm and 0.43 kg, the switch fits small cabinets, with a DIN-rail bracket included and wall mounting via WMBH-01.
How to choose the right SISTP1040-342-LRT part number
SISTP1040-342-LRT is a single switch model, so selection is about the parts around it. The 25105 industrial DIN-rail power supply is listed as compatible for the 48 to 57 VDC input; size any supply for the 120 W PoE budget plus 4.4 W for the switch. SFP modules for the two 100/1000 slots are ordered separately. DRBH-01 is a spare DIN-rail bracket, WMBH-01 adds wall mounting, and OCA-P181610 is a vented outdoor cabinet with DIN rails, terminal blocks and wire glands.

SISTP1040-342-LRT FAQ
How much PoE does the SISTP1040-342-LRT provide?
It has a 120 W PoE budget and delivers 30 W on all four PoE+ ports simultaneously. It complies with IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af, so both PoE+ and standard PoE powered devices are supported.
Is the SISTP1040-342-LRT a managed switch?
No. It is an unmanaged Layer 2 switch with a wire-speed store-and-forward engine, so there is no configuration interface. Status LEDs show system, Power1, Power2 and port status, and a reset button resets the switch.
What power input does the SISTP1040-342-LRT need?
It requires 48 to 57 VDC on redundant inputs with reverse power protection. The switch consumes 4.4 W without PoE, so a supply must cover that plus up to 120 W of PoE load. The 25105 DIN-rail supply is listed as compatible.
What is the operating temperature of the SISTP1040-342-LRT?
The switch operates from -40 C to +75 C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, in a fanless IP30 metal housing. It is certified UL Class 1 Div 2, CE, FCC Part 15 and IEC/EN 62368-1.
