About the Lantronix SM16TAT2SA
The SM16TAT2SA is the 16-port model in the Lantronix SMTATSA family (also listed as SMxTAT2SA). It provides sixteen 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports with IEEE 802.3at PoE+ and two dual-speed 100/1000 SFP slots on a 36 Gbps store-and-forward fabric. It sits between the 8-port and 24-port models for camera and access point counts that outgrow a desktop switch but don't need 24 ports.
The 250 W budget powers eight ports at a full 30 W or all sixteen at 15.4 W. Full-load consumption with PoE is 296 W from a 100-240 VAC internal supply with 6KV surge protection. The embedded Device Management System lets integrators set and document a baseline deployment, automatically discover attached powered devices and configure them remotely. It adds topology, floor and map views, traffic monitoring and diagnostics. Auto Power Reset and Always on PoE keep cameras and access points running.
Layer 2 features include 802.1Q VLANs with up to 4k entries, QinQ, private and MAC-based VLANs, LACP and static trunks, MSTP/RSTP/STP, IGMP and MLD snooping, eight QoS queues, RADIUS and TACACS+, and DHCP snooping. Management is via web, CLI, Telnet and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. Operating range is 0°C to +50°C.
