About the Lantronix UDS1100-B
The UDS1100-B (also written UDS 1100 or UDS1100B) network-enables equipment that only has a serial interface, such as factory machinery, security systems, HVAC and lighting controls and point-of-sale devices. It is designed to be integrated with the host product's circuit board, so OEMs add networking without developing their own TCP/IP stack. Lantronix lists the UDS1100-B as NRFND, not recommended for new designs, and the product page names no replacement.
A single DB25 female DCE port supports software-selectable RS-232, RS-422 or 2- and 4-wire RS-485 at 300 baud to 230 Kbaud, with 15 kV ESD protection on the transceivers. The 10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet port has 1500 VAC isolation. Power is 9 to 30 VDC or 9 to 24 VAC on a barrel connector, or 9 to 30 VDC through the DB25, at 1.5 W maximum, and the board operates from -40 to 70 C.
Serial tunneling encapsulates serial data in Ethernet packets, linking two device servers across a facility or around the world, or reaching Windows applications through Lantronix COM Port Redirector. Modem emulation accepts AT commands to replace dial-up modems. Setup uses the built-in web server, Telnet, the serial port or DeviceInstaller, and 2 MB of flash stores firmware and custom web pages.

How to choose the right UDS1100-B part number
UD110000B-01 is the only device server part number: the UDS1100 board only, with a 10/100 RJ-45 port and one DB25F DCE RS-232/422/485 port. The other listed parts complete an installation. ACC-520-0182-00 is a 12 VDC, 10 W wall-cube power supply with four AC plugs. ACC-500-171-R adapts the DB25M side to RS-485 and a 9 to 30 VDC power input on screw terminals, useful for field wiring. ACC-500-163-R is a DB25M to DB9F serial cable for devices with DB9 ports.
