About the Lantronix UDS1100-IAP
The UDS1100-IAP (also written UDS 1100 IAP) is the industrial automation version of the Lantronix UDS1100 external device server. It connects one RS232, RS422 or RS485 device to a 10/100 Ethernet network so HMI, SCADA and PC-based control software can reach it, typically through an OPC server on Windows. Built-in Modbus TCP, RTU and ASCII support lets Modbus serial equipment join a Modbus TCP network without changing the attached device.
The software-selectable serial port uses a DB25F DCE connector at 300 baud to 230 Kbaud, with 2- and 4-wire RS485 support and 15 kV ESD protection. Serial tunneling carries data over Ethernet in two ways: Com Port Redirector presents the unit as a local COM port to Windows applications, or two UDS1100-IAP units can be paired to create a virtual serial cable across a facility. Modem emulation mode accepts AT commands so dial-up modem links can be replaced with network connections.
Power is 9-30 VDC or 9-24 VAC on the barrel connector, or 9-30 VDC through the DB25 port, at 1.5 W maximum, with 600 W transient protection. The IP30 metal enclosure has integrated wall mounts and operates from -40°C to 70°C. Configuration is via DeviceInstaller, web browser, Telnet, serial login or SNMP.

UD1100IA2-01 is the complete kit: the UDS1100-IAP, a 100-240 VAC international power supply with regional adapters, the ACC-500-163-R DB25M to DB9F serial cable and the ACDIN1001-01 DIN rail mount. For RS485 wiring and field power, add the ACC-500-171-R adapter, which breaks the DB25 out to screw terminals for RS485 and a 9-30 VDC input. ACC-520-0182-00 is a spare 12 VDC 10 W wall-cube supply with four AC plugs.
