The Lantronix EMGFF01 is the EMG 8500 FRU for RS-232 Serial 4-Port (UART) device-port expansion. Lantronix lists it as a Device Port Module under Field Replaceable Device Modules for the Lantronix EMG 8500. The EMG 8500 uses a modular design so RJ45 serial, Ethernet and/or USB device ports can be added to existing and new infrastructure equipment. The series is built for branch offices, remote locations, retail stores and other sites where an offsite network device gateway is needed and space is limited. As part of an EMG 8500 deployment, device ports can be accessed via Telnet/SSH or a web browser-based console client. The EMG 8500 is also compatible with Percepxion for Networking for centralized management of deployed Lantronix edge management gateways and connected IT equipment.
