The Lantronix ION C2210-1013 is a Fast Ethernet media and rate converter module for connecting 10/100Base-TX copper ports to 100Base-FX fiber ports. This configuration uses RJ-45 copper and 1300nm multimode SC fiber with a 2 km/1.2 mi. fiber distance. Operating at Layer 2, the C2210 converts copper to fiber and provides rate conversion so legacy 10Base-T copper devices can connect to 100Base-FX fiber. The module supports Auto-Negotiation of speed and duplex on the TP port, Auto-MDI/MDIX, Link Pass Through, Far-End-Fault detection, Pause, Automatic Link Restoration and field upgradeable firmware. It is manageable when installed in a managed ION chassis; manageable features require an ION Platform chassis and an ION Management Module.
