Lantronix M/GE-PSW-SFP-01-UTX is a mini Gigabit Ethernet unidirectional media converter in the M/GE-UxX Series. It converts a 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 copper connection to a unidirectional 100/1000Base-X SFP slot and operates as the transmitting converter. The M/GE-UxX Series adds unidirectional technology to copper-to-fiber media conversion. Lantronix describes this one-way communication as a way to create a physically secure one-way communication channel over fiber between a secure network and an unsecure network. Applications require this transmit-only converter to be paired with a receive-only converter. The transmitting converter uses the TX port on a duplex SFP module while the RX port is deactivated.

Ideal For

  • Transmit data from a classified, high-security area to a low-security area while preventing unsecure data from reentering the classified network
  • Update a secure network with data from an external source while ensuring its critical data is unable to leave the classified area
  • Connect fiber optic cabling to copper-based networking equipment with one-way communication over fiber
  • Use unidirectional communication in secure environments such as government agencies and military networks

Why This Product

  • 1Compared with receiving converter variants, this transmitting converter uses the TX port on the SFP while the RX port is deactivated
  • 2As a -PSW version, this SKU uses 4.5VDC to 14VDC via barrel connector; -ISW versions use 12 – 48 VDC or 24 – 36VAC via 2-pin terminal block
  • 3As a -PSW version, this SKU is listed for 0°C to 50°C operating; M/GE-ISW-SFP-01-xx-UxX is listed for -40°C to 75°C
