About the Lantronix M/E-ISW-02 Series
Edge devices in traffic cabinets, kiosks and plant-floor enclosures often sit beyond copper's 100 m reach and in temperatures that office converters cannot handle. The M/E-ISW-02 Series (also written ME-ISW-FX-02) solves both: it converts 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX fiber, operates from -40°C to 75°C, and measures just 46 x 85 x 22 mm, so it fits enclosures with little spare room. It is plug-and-play, with auto-negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDIX on the copper port and fixed full duplex on fiber.
Power enters through a 2-pin terminal block that accepts 12 to 48 VDC or 24 to 36 VAC, with overload current and reverse polarity protection. A barrel connector pigtail is included for external adapters. Consumption is 2.5 W. Link Pass Through, Far-End-Fault and automatic link restoration help detect and recover from link failures, and the SFP model adds Active Link Pass Through and 10,240-byte frames.
Fiber options cover multimode with ST, SC or LC connectors and single-mode with SC, plus an open SFP slot for other optics. Three LEDs on the RJ-45 face show power, fiber link and activity, and copper link and activity. A DIN-rail clip and velcro are included, and the WMBM wall-mount bracket is sold separately. The housing is IP20 rated and the unit carries FCC Class A and CE marks.

How to choose the right M/E-ISW-02 Series part number
The fiber interface is the only difference between models. M/E-ISW-FX-02 (ST) and M/E-ISW-FX-02(SC) use 1300 nm multimode to 2 km with a 14.0 dB budget. M/E-ISW-FX-02(MMLC) is 1300 nm multimode with LC connectors to 2 km and an 11.0 dB budget. M/E-ISW-FX-02(SM) uses 1310 nm single-mode on SC to 20 km with a 19.0 dB budget. M/E-ISW-FX-02(SFP) has an open 100Base-FX SFP slot and supports jumbo frames to 10,240 bytes. For mains power, add the SPS-UA12DHT 12 VDC adapter or the 25165 DIN-rail supply.
